Quartz with dendrite inclusions is termed dendritic quartz. Dendrites are inclusions of manganese, iron or other oxides that grow in a fractal pattern with an appearance similar to trees or branches. In fact, the word dendrite comes from the Greek word “dendron”, which means tree.
