Herkimer diamonds are double-terminated quartz crystals discovered within exposed outcrops of Dolomite in and around Herkimer County, New York, and the Mohawk River Valley in the US.
This beautiful specimen is from the Ace of Diamonds mine. It has a key which is when the crystal have indentations on them left by another crystal.
