Window Quartz, also called Elestial Quartz or Skeletal Quartz, are a classification of crystals exhibiting anomalous skeletal growth patterns caused by unstable conditions during their formation. The surface of the crystals have unusual geometric patterns, that formed layer upon layer over millions of years. Elestial Quartz crystals are generally smoky or clear quartz and very rarely Amethyst or Citrine varieties. These crystals often contain pockets of clay or enhydro inclusions. In Elestial Quartz, the sides of the crystal grown faster than the faces, explaining how their intricate patterns have come into being.
