Bumblebee jasper is a mixture of volcanic matter, including anhydrite, sulfur, arsenic, and hematite. The stone's vivid colors come from sulfur and arsenic compounds. Bumblebee Jasper is not a true jasper, but a stone called Travertine and has a calcite base making it soft but brilliant colored.
