Serpentine with Pyrite is not one single mineral but a group of minerals. Each is dependent on the structure of its chemical formula. It can contain magnesium, nickel, aluminum, zinc, silicon, or manganese. Minerals referred to as serpentine include chrysotile, antigorite, and lizardite. These can be found at any converging tectonic plate boundary. This is where an oceanic plate is being forced down into the mantle of the Earth. It was named serpentine after its green color, pattering, and slick feel similar to a snake. The serpentine group includes around 20 types, such as translucent Bowenite, lime-green Healerite, and the abundant Lizardite
